In Maple Class, we build on the skills and knowledge taught in the previous years and work towards developing mastery of key skills and concepts.

Our children work together as a class, in groups and individually to complete our learning. They are actively encouraged to discuss and demonstrate their practical learning to their peers and adults to develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.

We have high expectations that inspire the children to achieve well and have aspirational goals for their future.

As reading is a key skill throughout the curriculum, children read regularly in school and have key common exception words to learn to read at home to help them to develop fluency in reading. Children are read to daily to develop their vocabulary and a love of reading.

Our subjects are linked to our topics each term and children have the opportunity to access to a range of trips, experiences and guest speakers throughout the year to enhance their learning.
